Just the Facts
We truly care about you and understand that you have many decisions
to make. Your right to choose to have a pregnancy termination is
very important to us. It is our privilege to provide you with the
unconditional support you need during this time. We have created a
list of frequently asked questions and facts that will hopefully
help you in your decision.
Is pregnancy termination safe for me?
Abortions are one of the safest procedures done in the United
States. Complications and long lasting problems are quite rare.
Will an abortion procedure affect future
pregnancies?
A legal abortion should not affect your fertility or ability to have
children.
How do you protect my privacy?
We will not share any information about your appointment with anyone
without your permission. There will not be any calls to confirm an
appointment. Once your appointment has been made, we will ask you
for a private password that only you know. We will not mail any
information to you before the appointment.
How much will an abortion procedure cost?
Our fees are all inclusive, except for the check-up. You will not be
surprised with any hidden fees. Fees vary depending on the procedure
you have done and how far along you are in your pregnancy. We have a
detailed listing of our fees on our Abortion Services Fees webpage.
What if there are complications after the
abortion procedure?
It is very rare that there will be complications; however, we have
professional physicians and nurses to care for you 24 hours a day.
If necessary, we have a transfer agreement with a local hospital.
Do I need my parent’s consent?
The state of Illinois does not require parental consent. Your
parents will NOT be informed unless you authorize permission. We
respect your right to choose what is best for your life. However, if
you are a minor, we highly recommend that you talk with your parents
or some other adult in your life to help you make a decision that is
best for your life.
Will there be picketers?
All abortion clinics have people who do not approve of your right to
choose to have an abortion. Our abortion clinic generally has two to
three older people who stand out front. Just continue to drive, and
they will not bother you. After you reach our drive, you will not
have any further contact with them. Parking is in the back, and we
have a completely private entrance.
Can I bring a friend?
You are able to bring anyone you with to your appointment. They are
allowed to be a part of the counseling session, if you choose.
Will the procedure cause me any discomfort
and cramping?
Will it hurt is a frequently asked question. We will give you some
medication to take for cramps. If you are not driving we can give
you 2 other medications that are injected into the vein in your arm.
These medications will make you drowsy and relaxed. A lot of women
fall asleep for a brief time and usually can’t remember the
procedure. Your support nurse will be with you until you go to
recovery.
